WikiMusicGuide: A Site in the Making

WikiMusicGuideWidely compared by Wikipedia on the online community, WikiMusicGuide is not an Encyclopedia. As a matter of fact, many users copy and paste articles from Wikipedia which administrators pro-actively warn.

How are both sites different? WikiMusicGuide focuses only about music while Wikipedia is everything as I see it. Several advantages though in going to WikiMusicGuide. For one is notability. If you do not meet their standards your article will be deleted. One criteria I knew to meet Wikipedia notability standard is based on the number of legitimate sites talking about you - no blogs, no personal opinions included that makes sources or references! I don’t how’d they really define it.

How about being compared with other music sites such as All Music Guide? All Music Guide has regular reviewers where fans don’t get the chance to interact. But at WikiMusicGuide? from indie artist, or aspiring artist of all ages and gender all are welcome to create your page and discuss with them new concerts and albums releases. Really!

In general, the site is young but looks aggressive having almost 20,000 pages (including talk) in which 3,500 legitimate content pages. I’ll rate the site a 4 in terms of interactivity with music fans on the whole world wide web.
